In a landmark moment that underlines the deepening relationship between traditional institutions and the private sector, His Royal Highness, Alh. (Dr.) Abubakar Sadiq Ahmed Yakubu II, the Ejeh of Ankpa and Chairman of the Ankpa Traditional Council, paid a historic visit to Tunde Ramos Coal Mines, operated by Mosra Energy Limited, during his traditional royal tour to Ikah District Council.
The royal father, accompanied by HRH Onu Aloga, other traditional heads, and members of his royal entourage, visited the mining facility for the first time since its inception. His Majesty offered royal blessings and fervent prayers for the continued success and expansion of the mining operations.
Receiving the monarch on behalf of the Site Head, Engr. Emmanuel Olanrewaju Babatunde, was the Site Administrative Officer, Mr. Chiemeka Evans Adindu. In his remarks, Mr. Adindu described the visit as an honour and privilege for the entire company and appreciated the Ejeh for taking time out of his traditional obligations to visit the site. He affirmed the company’s unwavering commitment to sustaining the existing collaboration and synergy with the Ankpa Kingdom and the host community.
“This visit is a blessing and an encouragement. It reinforces our resolve to keep working in harmony with our host communities and to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of Ikah District and beyond,” said Mr. Adindu.
Earlier, His Royal Highness reiterated his commitment to supporting the company in every possible way to ensure it thrives within a peaceful and secure environment. He acknowledged the giant strides recorded by Tunde Ramos Coal Mines in boosting the local economy, creating jobs, and enhancing the development of Ikah District, Ankpa LGA, Kogi State, and Nigeria at large.
“Your efforts are not unnoticed. The development you have brought to this region is commendable. I assure you of my continued support as you carry out your operations in this kingdom,” the Ejeh declared.
The monarch also used the occasion to emphasize the importance of peace, unity, and lawfulness among community members, stressing that acts of violence or hostility toward investors would no longer be tolerated.
