In a major push to strengthen road safety and operational efficiency, Mosra Energy Limited has concluded an intensive one-day Driver Competency Enhancement Training, at its company premises in Kogi State.
The program, facilitated by experts from the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, brought together 129 drivers across the company’s haulage, trailer, pit truck, diesel bowser, and Hilux fleets for a deep dive into Defensive Driving, Speed and Braking Techniques, and Emergency Driving.
Led by Engr. Dr. Garba Muhammad Sani and Adams Onah of NITT, the highly practical sessions combined theory with field demonstrations designed to improve reaction time, hazard anticipation, and vehicle control under high-risk conditions. The training also highlighted the physics of speed and braking in heavy-duty vehicles and provided hands-on exercises in controlled braking, evasive maneuvering, and emergency response.
A critical module on Operational Integrity and Asset Management was co-facilitated by representatives from Tracify and Mosra Energy’s Logistics and Tracker Officer, Matthew Akaha, focusing on strict compliance with company policies on route discipline, asset monitoring, and fuel accountability. Participants were reminded that all driving activities are tracked digitally, with zero tolerance for tampering, diesel siphoning, or unauthorized diversions.
At the close of the session, participants demonstrated improved technical proficiency and a deeper appreciation for the safety culture championed by the company.
According to the Human Resources and Logistics Departments, the initiative reflects Mosra Energy’s ongoing commitment to building a world-class transport workforce capable of meeting the demands of modern mining logistics while maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards.
